Queen’s birthday (now King’s birthday) is a long weekend that means one thing in the McConachy family - the first weekend of olive picking! We headed home to Rata from all over the country for a weekend in the olive grove, and brought a few friends along with us. The weather forecast wasn't looking great, but we were unexpectedly treated to a couple of beautiful days, and we got through two rows of frantoio olives. The trees are lighter than last year, but the olives are looking beautiful. Within hours of picking (and minutes, in the case of some), we had the olives into the press and shortly afterwards we poured our first frantoio extra virgin olive oil of the season - we can confirm it's as delicious as always!

Hi my good friend in Rata introduced me to Rata olives extra virgin olives I had never tried it before and Im very glad she did it is very delicious with Dukkah and bread, I have introduced it to many of my friends. I brought the mediterraniean mix, lemons and lime Citrus, Agrumato, koroneiki, Leccino.
